Timber Logistics – From Forest to Port

SAFLog supports the forestry and timber sector with integrated back-of-port handling and export logistics solutions through our multipurpose facility at 29 Iran Road, Bayhead, Durban.

Our timber operations include the receiving, handling and stockpiling of export-quality veneer logs, eucalyptus and pine, destined primarily for international markets including India and China. Cargo is received into the facility, segregated and stockpiled according to operational and customer requirements before being prepared for export.

Logs are measured and scaled using the JAS (Japanese Agricultural Standard) method and loaded into 40-foot containers. SAFLog manages the complete handling process, including container stuffing, fumigation coordination and the onward transport of loaded containers to the Durban container terminals for export.

Our strategic back-of-port location, experienced operational team and specialised materials-handling capability allow SAFLog to provide customers with a controlled and efficient timber export solution from receipt through to final delivery to the port.
