Multipurpose Logistics Hub – Bayhead, Durban

Strategically positioned at 29 Iran Road in the Bayhead Port Precinct, SAFLog operates a multipurpose logistics facility supporting both import and export cargo flows through the Port of Durban and the wider SADC region.

The facility comprises approximately 10,800 m² of undercover warehousing, a 12,000 m² external yard and a dedicated 3,000 m² SOS bonded section, providing customers with flexible bonded and non-bonded cargo handling solutions. The site is further supported by a rail siding, enabling the efficient movement of cargo between road, rail and port.

The facility is equipped to accommodate a diverse range of commodities and cargo types, including bulk minerals, breakbulk cargo, containerised general cargo, project cargo and agricultural products. Services include receiving and offloading, warehousing, stockpiling, cargo consolidation, container stuffing and de-stuffing, staging, storage and dispatch.

Connected freight corridor

Its location provides direct access to Durban's key port terminals, situated approximately 2.8 km from the Durban Container Terminal and 2.1 km from New Pier, supporting efficient container and breakbulk movements. The facility is also strategically positioned in relation to Maydon Wharf for bulk and breakbulk cargo operations.

Through its SOS bonded capability, SAFLog can support cargo moving under customs control, providing an important logistics link for commodities moving between Durban and customers throughout the SADC region.

The Iran Road facility forms part of SAFLog's integrated Pit-to-Port offering, providing customers with a strategically located back-of-port hub capable of supporting multiple commodities, transport modes and international trade flows.
